Hi all,

Just a quick note to let you know that our Winter Assembly will be on Friday 16th of December at 1.30 pm. The children have been working very hard. Our play is an environmental musical dealing with issues of global warming.

I have tried to keep the costumes as simple as possible. I will be making penguin and polar bear masks for these roles. If you are having any problems sourcing items please let me know as someone else in the class may have something you could borrow.

The children will let you know what their role in the play is.

If you have any questions regarding the assembly please do not hesitate in contacting me.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the 16th.

Suggested Costume List

·        Penguins: Black clothes

·        Polar Bears: White Clothes

·        Mr Boot & Sam: No costume required - Santa hat if the children wish

·        Mrs Motor & Pam: No costume required - Santa hat if the children wish

·        Children: No costume required - Santa hat if the children wish

·        DJ Donnie: Headphones, hat, large chain, sunglasses

·        Lumberjacks: Check shirt, jeans, toy axe

·        Taoiseach: Shirt & tie

·        Narrators: Can dress as penguins or polar bears (black or white clothes)

Spelling: Practice spellings for test on Friday ('ck' sound).

Tables: Children will be working on the 8 + tables this week. Please complete the day's section in your Tables Champion books. Children will be tested on their 8 + tables on Friday.

Monday 5th December

Spelling: Practice spellings for test on Friday.

Tables: 8+ Monday

Maths: Circle blocks of ten, write how many tens and how many units.

Phonics: 'ck' words - fill in the missing sounds, read the words.

Tuesday 6th December

Spelling: Practice spellings for test on Friday.

Tables: 8+ Tuesday

Maths: Numbers up to 30.

Grammar:

• A - fill in the missing letters (letters before/after/between given letter(s))
• B - Put the letters given in alphabetical order
• C Put each set of words in alphabetical order

Wednesday 7th December

Spelling: Practice spellings for test on Friday.

Tables: 8+ Wednesday

Maths:  Numbers up to 40.

Grammar:  Plurals - adding 's' and 'es'

Thursday 8th December

Spelling: Practice spellings for test on tomorrow.

Tables: 8+ Thursday

Maths: Numbers up to 50.
